Job summary

Circle Health Group's Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury is seeking a Housekeeper for a 12-month fixed-term contract. The role covers 22.5 hours per week with flexibility across departments, including Theatre areas, at various Circle Health Group sites as required.

The position requires literacy and numeracy proficiency, GCSEs in Maths/English, and PC skills; benefits include holiday allowance, private healthcare, and staff discounts.

• Maths and English GCSEs at A-C or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertake in the day-to-day cleaning of patient, public and employee areas.
• Maintain a safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors and Circle Health Group employees.
• Replenish linen and consumables.
• Provide flexibility to work in all departments (inc Theatre areas) and at other Circle Health Group sites where appropriate and as requested.
• Complete daily task sheets and submit to the Housekeeper Lead on a daily basis for auditing purposes.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Chaucer Hospital in Canterbury is part of Circle Health Group , Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Housekeeper to join their team of staff in the Hotel Services department.

This is a part-time role for 22.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required tocover a flexible shift pattern starting September 2026.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake in the day-to-day cleaning of patient, public and employee areas.
• Maintain a safe and pleasant environment for patients, visitors and Circle Health Group employees.

• Provide flexibility to work in all departments (inc Theatre areas) and at other Circle Health Group sites where appropriate and as requested

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Competency in literacy and numeracy
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
