Job summary

Orders of St. John Care Trust (OSJCT) is hiring a Housekeeper for our Wellford Gardens site in Wheatley. You’ll ensure high standards of cleanliness across resident rooms, corridors and shared spaces, supporting infection control and a safe, welcoming environment for residents, families and staff.

We offer training and development in a not-for-profit setting that reinvests in people. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) at our Oxfordshire care home, with benefits to support your work.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping in elder care preferred.
• Ability to communicate with residents in a caring manner.
• Willingness to learn and receive training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in resident rooms and living spaces.
• Adhere to infection control and hygiene procedures.
• Use cleaning equipment and supplies safely and efficiently.
• Assist residents with daily routines and maintain a welcoming environment.

ABOUT OUR ROLE

Our Housekeepers play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in our homes, ensuring that every room and living space is clean, tidy and maintained at all times. A champion for hygiene and infection control within the home, you'll have access to specialised equipment and materials to ensure you can create a welcoming, safe and comfortable environment for residents, as well as their friends and families. Some of our residents love to join in with simple cleaning and laundry tasks, so you may sometimes find that you have extra help as you carry out your daily routines.

In joining us, you'll also become part of our extended family. You'll work alongside other team members who are passionate about providing a safe environment, as well as warmth and kindness to all those who live and work in our homes.

Wellford Gardens is our first luxury new build incorporating all-inclusive in the comfort of luxurious surroundings. It will include en-suite bedrooms, fresh air ventilation, acoustic monitoring, landscaped gardens, private dining, hair and beauty facilities, cinema, lounge and sun terrace. The home is located just off the A40 on Park Hill in Wheatley. Wellford Gardens is a three-storey home with 65 bedrooms, offering residents round-the-clock residential and dementia care. The home design includes innovative new technologies including E-care and providing person centred care with many personalised options.

ABOUT YOU

You'll be comfortable in an elderly care setting, with the ability to relate to our residents in a caring and sensitive manner.

If you've worked in a housekeeping role before, then that's great as you'll have a good idea of what to expect. But if housekeeping as a profession is new to you, then don't worry - we'll provide all the training you need to start your new career with us. What's more important to us is that you take pride in your work, you're good at communicating with people, you enjoy working as part of a team, you'll be keen to learn and will want to excel at your job every day.
