Job summary

St Austell Brewery is seeking a part-time Housekeeper for the Port Gaverne Hotel, a 17th century inn near Port Isaac on Cornwall’s dramatic coast. Help maintain 15 en-suite rooms, welcoming guests and keeping rooms spotless while supporting a small, close-knit team.

Shifts offer flexibility and training will be provided. The role emphasizes a warm, home-from-home guest experience and pride in maintaining traditional surroundings with historic features including a narrow staircase and two floors.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping preferred, but training is provided.
• Able to manage stairs and uneven surfaces due to historic building.
• Attention to detail and pride in cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm welcome to guests and help them feel at home during their stay.
• Keep hotel rooms clean, tidy and well-maintained between guest visits.
• Assist in other housekeeping tasks as needed to support the team.

Job description

The 17th century Port Gaverne Hotel is nestled in a beautiful, secluded cove near Port Isaac on North Cornwall's dramatic coast. Relax in our traditional old bar with slate floors, wooden beams and a wide range of proper ales served alongside seasonal, quality food inspired by the bounty on our doorstep.
The Port Gaverne has 15 ensuite rooms, each individually furnished. Please note, our rooms are situated on two floors of the building and because the building is very old, we do not have access to an elevator. All rooms are accessible via a narrow, steep staircase with low ceilings, keeping the natural beauty of the place intact.
The beautiful, peaceful North Cornwall Heritage Coast is on our doorstep, with the beach just moments away.

Part time opportunity! We’re looking for a Housekeeper to
join our close-knit team. You’ll provide a warm welcome to guests, making them
feel at home throughout their stay, while keeping our rooms looking spick and
span. If you haven’t done this kind of work before, we’ll support you to learn.
