Avon Search & Selection is seeking a reliable Housekeeper for a care home in Fareham. You will maintain a clean, hygienic and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues within a Grade II listed Georgian home.

The role involves cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms and communal areas, changing beds, and following infection prevention procedures. A caring, flexible and detail‑oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience, preferably in care settings.
• Strong hygiene knowledge.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Caring, respectful and approachable manner.

Set within three acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this welcoming residential care home is housed in a stunning Grade II listed Georgian property, offering a peaceful and attractive setting for older people.

The home features 26 individually decorated bedrooms, furnished to a high standard in a charming country-living style. Privately owned, the service provides a warm, comfortable, and caring environment where residents can enjoy a happy and fulfilling new chapter in their lives.

With a maximum capacity of 34 residents, the home prides itself on creating a close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere where everyone feels valued, respected, and supported. The care philosophy centres on compassion, family values, and creating a genuine sense of belonging.

The beautiful gardens and homely surroundings provide an ideal setting for residents to relax, socialise, and enjoy their day-to-day lives while maintaining their independence and individuality.

The Role

As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, tidy, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and colleagues. You will help ensure the home remains comfortable and hygienic, supporting residents' wellbeing and quality of life.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning residents' bedrooms, bathrooms, communal areas, and other facilities.
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the home.
• Changing bed linen and ensuring bedrooms are clean, fresh, and comfortable.
• Keeping communal spaces tidy and welcoming.
• Following infection prevention and control procedures.
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and correctly.
• Reporting maintenance issues, damage, or health and safety concerns.
• Respecting residents' privacy, dignity, and personal belongings.
• Working collaboratively with the wider team to maintain a homely environment.
• Helping create a pleasant atmosphere where residents feel comfortable and valued.
