Job summary

CareTech is seeking a dedicated cleaner/housekeeper for Uplands House in Fareham. The role involves maintaining hygiene across the service, following COSHH policies, and documenting cleaning activities to support a safe environment for residents and staff.

Full training will be provided; high attention to detail and ability to work with little supervision are essential. DBS checks and ongoing training are included as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning/housekeeping or hygiene-based role preferred but training provided.
• Ability to follow instruction with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of COSHH and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Clean designated areas and document activities.
• Monitor stock of cleaning supplies and store safely.
• Keep equipment clean, safe and well maintained; report faults.
• Follow health and safety, infection control and safeguarding rules.
• Attend training and contribute to a positive care environment.

Uplands House is a nurse-led care home compromising of 20 individual rooms with en-suites and 4 self-contained flat lets with an in-house psychology team for people with long-term mental health needs.

Uplands House supports males and females, aged 18+ with long-term mental health needs including any physical health conditions including those with co-morbid diagnoses, a secondary diagnosis of Learning Disability, Autism and Asperger's.

The Role

You will:

• Clean all designated areas of the service and ensure cleaning activities are properly documented.
• Monitor, order and manage cleaning supplies, including completing stock checks and ensuring safe storage of products.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is kept clean, safe and well maintained, reporting any faults or hazards to management.
• Follow health and safety procedures, including infection control, COSHH requirements, fire safety and safeguarding practices.
• Support the service by attending training, participating in meetings, maintaining confidentiality and contributing to a safe, positive environment for patients and staff

Ideally you will have experience within a cleaning/housekeeping or a hygiene-based role where you have worked to deadlines and within set guidelines. Cleaning experience is not essential as full training will be provided - however you will need high attention to detail with the ability to follow instruction with little supervision., Knowledge of COSHH
