Job summary

Cornwallis Care is seeking a friendly Housekeeper to help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents in Dobwalls. You will perform everyday cleaning, laundry duties, and light duties that support residents' comfort and dignity.

This role emphasizes caring interactions with residents and teamwork within a supportive domestic team. DBS checks and pre-employment checks apply; DBS is provided as part of the role, and bank holiday enhancements are available.

Qualifications

• Naturally kind, caring, and compassionate.

• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
• Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues.
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential.
• Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home.

Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops.
• Making beds and changing linens.
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively.
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels.
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas.
• Tidying and refreshing residents' rooms.
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required.
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly.
• Assisting in laundry duties and ensuring cleanliness throughout the home.
• Interacting positively with residents and contributing to their sense of home.

Job Purpose

The role of the Housekeeper is essential to helping our residents live full, happy, and healthy lives. You'll take pride in delivering a spotless and hygienic home environment that contributes to their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Interacting positively with residents - joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home

Requirements

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential
• Willingness to work in both cleaning and laundry areas of the home
• Passionate about making residents feel comfortable, safe, and cared for
• £12.80 per hour
• £25.60 per hour (Bank Holidays)
