Job summary

Your Care Jobs Ltd is seeking an experienced Housekeeper for a luxury residential care home in Dawlish, South Devon. The role offers 18 hours per week over 3 x 6-hour shifts, from 9:00am to 3:00pm, at £12.75 per hour plus paid breaks.

As part of a small, friendly team in a seven-acre countryside setting, you will maintain bedrooms and common areas, ensure high standards of cleanliness, and support a warm, homely environment for residents.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience desirable.
• Experience in care home, hotel or similar environment advantageous.
• Reliable and conscientious with good attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Clean residents' bedrooms and communal areas to a high standard.
• Maintain cleanliness throughout the home and shared spaces.
• Clean bathrooms, corridors, lounges and dining areas.
• Change bedding and maintain residents' rooms as required.
• Follow infection prevention and control procedures and report issues.

Set within seven acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, this elegant country house offers a peaceful and homely environment for up to 36 elderly residents requiring residential care.

The Role

As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining a clean, comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, visitors and staff.

You will work as part of the wider team to ensure the home is maintained to a high standard, helping to create a pleasant and homely environment for residents to enjoy.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning residents' bedrooms and communal areas to a high standard
• Maintaining cleanliness throughout the home
• Cleaning bathrooms, corridors, lounges, dining areas and other shared spaces
• Changing bedding and maintaining residents' rooms as required
• Ensuring cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and appropriately
• Following appropriate infection prevention and control procedures
• Reporting any maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate member of staff
• Working respectfully around residents and taking care not to disturb their comfort and routine
• Supporting a warm, welcoming and homely environment
• Working closely with the care and wider housekeeping team
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and presentation at all times

Working Hours

18 Hours per Week
3 x 6-Hour Shifts

£12.75 per hour + Paid Breaks

About You

• Previous housekeeping, cleaning or domestic experience is desirable
• Experience within a care home, hotel or similar environment would be advantageous
• Reliable, hardworking and conscientious
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness
• Caring, respectful and considerate towards elderly residents
• Good attention to detail
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Organised and able to manage daily cleaning responsibilities effectively
• Committed to maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment
