Job summary

Addison Park Care Home in Callington, Cornwall is hiring a friendly Housekeeper to join our domestic team on site. You’ll help create a warm, clean environment for residents by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene with a compassionate, resident-centred approach.

We value reliability and initiative, and offer DBS check and training, parking, uniform, and the chance to work part-time or full-time with weekend enhancements.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred.
• Able to work independently and manage tasks.
• Good communication with residents.
• Willingness to work in laundry areas.
• Enhanced DBS check and right to work in UK required.

Responsibilities

• Dust and polish furniture and fixtures
• Clean and sanitise bathrooms, sinks, countertops
• Make beds and change linens
• Use vacuums, mops and cloths effectively
• Keep bathrooms stocked with toiletries and towels
• Clean mirrors and communal areas
• Tidy residents’ rooms
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies
• Report repairs promptly
• Assist in laundry duties
• Interact positively with residents

Job Purpose

The role of the Housekeeper is essential to helping our residents livefull, happy, and healthy lives. You’ll take pride in delivering a spotless and hygienic home environment that contributes to their comfort, dignity, and wellbeing.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
• Cleaning and sanitising bathrooms, sinks, and countertops
• Making beds and changing linens
• Using cleaning tools such as vacuums, mops, and cloths effectively
• Keeping bathrooms stocked with toiletries and fresh towels
• Cleaning mirrors, glass surfaces, and communal areas
• Tidying and refreshing residents’ rooms
• Monitoring and ordering cleaning supplies as required
• Reporting repairs or maintenance issues promptly
• Assisting in laundry dutiesand ensuring cleanliness throughout the home
• Interacting positively with residents — joining conversations, offering a smile, and contributing to their sense of home

Requirements

• Naturallykind, caring, and compassionate
• Highly motivated with great attention to detail
• Able to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
• Comfortable communicating with residents and colleagues
• Experience in housekeeping or cleaning preferred, but not essential
• Willingness to work in bothcleaning and laundryareas of the home
• Passionate about making residents feel comfortable, safe, and cared for
• £12.80 per hour
• £25.60 per hour (Bank Holidays)
