Job summary

Belong is seeking a Catering Lead to work with the Bistro and Catering Manager across the Village kitchens. You will develop recipes to meet residents’ dietary requirements and ensure meals are wholesome, nutritious, and appetising.

You will train and support the team, follow health and safety guidelines, and ensure HACCP records are kept up to date. DBS check is part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Health and safety guidelines followed in line with EH & S regulations and Belong policies.
• Complete HACCP records for the household catering service.
• Advise on best practices to prevent malnutrition and dehydration.
• Monitor service standards across household kitchens.

Responsibilities

• Develop recipes within the Village to meet dietary requirements of residents.
• Deliver high quality, wholesome and nutritious meals for residents.
• Lead and train the catering team, ensuring safe, compliant operations.

About the Role

This role is where it all starts, you will be reporting to and working with the Bistro and Catering Manager (BCM) developing recipes within the Village to meet the dietary requirements of all our residents.

Delivering high quality meals is essential to our residents as this could be one of their highlights of their day. You will need to ensure that all meals are wholesome, nutritional, flavoursome and appetising to encourage our residents to enjoy their homecooked meals, along with;

• Ensure health, safety and food hygiene procedures for the households catering are followed in line with environmental health and H&S regulations and in accordance with Belong policies and procedures
• Ensure all household HACCP records are completed
• Ensure the household catering service prevents malnutrition and dehydration following and advising on best practice guidelines accordingly and dietician advice
• Monitor service standards throughout the household kitchens ensuring quality
• Knowledge of SALT and dysphasia is essential

About You.

You will have a passion for food, creativity drive and commitment to deliver the high standards, be able to train and develop, encourage and support your team. Follow all the Health and Safely guide lines to ensure your department is well led, and safe. Level 2/3 Catering qualifications are desirable.
