McCarthy Stone is the UK’s leading retirement living provider. We are looking for a House Manager to join our team at Pele Court in Penrith.

Pele Court is an exclusive development of one and two-bedroom retirement apartments for over 60s, located conveniently with easy access to local facilities.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

About the Role of a House Manager

We seek a customer-centric House Manager to exemplify our high standards of customer service. The key role is to enhance our Homeowners’ quality of life and support their independence. This diverse role involves high-level customer service, front-of-house duties, and facilities management. The successful candidate will foster a strong community through event coordination and regular meetings to update residents and address their priorities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Welcoming new Homeowners and assisting them in settling into their apartments.
  • Providing professional front-of-house service and managing visitors courteously.
  • Being the primary contact for Homeowners, offering support and advice as needed.
  • Collaborating with partners and suppliers to ensure smooth estate operations.
  • Representing McCarthy Stone to families and friends of Homeowners.
  • Handling issues with sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect for privacy.
  • Managing gardens and grounds to maintain a safe, secure, and pleasant environment.
  • Facilitating social interactions and helping Homeowners enjoy retirement living.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Key competencies for success:
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude.
  • Extensive experience in a customer service role.
  • Professional approach with high standards.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, varied environment.
  • Resilience and effective problem-solving skills.
  • Basic Health and Safety awareness is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  • First aid qualifications are preferred but training will be provided.
