About the Role of a House Manager

McCarthy Stone, the UK’s leading retirement living provider, is looking for a House Manager to join our team at Beckside Gardens in Guisborough.

Beckside Gardens offers 40 one and two-bedroom retirement apartments for those over 60, purpose-built for retirement living.

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We offer flexibility around school hours.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Welcoming new Homeowners and supporting their settlement into their apartments.
  2. Providing professional front-of-house service and greeting visitors.
  3. Being the first point of contact for Homeowners, offering support and advice.
  4. Collaborating with partners and suppliers for estate management.
  5. Representing McCarthy Stone to families and friends of Homeowners.
  6. Handling Homeowners issues with sensitivity, respecting confidentiality and privacy.
  7. Managing gardens and grounds to ensure a safe, secure, and pleasant environment.
  8. Facilitating social activities and promoting community engagement.
  9. Ensuring health and safety compliance across the development.
Candidate Competencies
  1. Excellent communication skills with a proactive attitude.
  2. Experience in customer service roles.
  3. Professional approach with high standards.
  4. Ability to handle a busy, varied role.
  5. Resilience and effective problem-solving skills.
  6. Basic awareness of Health and Safety regulations.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  8. First aid certification is advantageous; training will be provided.
