West Herts College is seeking an enthusiastic Hourly Paid Lecturer to teach Sewing and Dressmaking at our Barnfield/Luton Campus. The role involves running a sewing workshop, guiding students through beginners' projects, and developing advanced dressmaking techniques from commercial patterns.

The position is initially fixed-term starting October 2026 with full training and development support, access to discounts, cycle-to-work and parking.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching sewing and dressmaking.
• Ability to run and maintain a sewing workshop.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety procedures in a teaching workshop.

Responsibilities

• Teach sewing and dressmaking to beginners and advanced students.
• Develop students' sewing techniques through practical sessions.
• Advise on correct materials and suitable fastenings for garments.
• Maintain a safe and well-equipped sewing workshop.
