The role supports learners with difficulties and/or disabilities, assisting delivery of personalised learning and helping students engage with college life. You will work with the teaching team, require First Aid and care training, strong communication, teamwork and flexibility, with opportunities for training and benefits such as cycle-to-work, onsite

Qualifications

• Must have current First Aid qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of personalised learning opportunities for learners with needs.
• Assist learners to participate in all aspects of college life and learning assessments.
• Collaborate with teaching staff to remove barriers to learning and track progress.
• Provide care and safeguarding support as required.

Job description

We are looking for an Hourly Paid Learning Support Assistant and Carer to join the Skills for Life team, providing a wide range of programmes for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities.As a key part of this specialist team, the successful candidate will be helping to support the delivery of outstanding personalised learning opportunities. We want people who can assist learners to experience all aspects of College life.You will need to be flexible, working well as part of a team to support the provision for learners within Skills for Life, as well as those attending through our links with local schools.The successful candidate will have an understanding and experience of working with students who have diverse special learning needs. You will be a qualified and experienced First Aider with the relevant Care training and qualifications. Working with a range of students, a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills is essential. This role requires a
proactive professional who can work with the teaching team to remove potential barriers and support the learner assessment process.You will be based at Barnfield College, Luton.
