Job summary

West Herts College seeks an hourly paid English lecturer to join the English team. You will deliver, develop and prepare Stepping Stones and GCSE English, and support vocational staff by embedding English in their courses.

You will assist with diagnostic processes, providing evidence of work plans and ILPs, and contribute to quality processes across campuses. The role is based across Watford, Hemel Hempstead and Luton, with a January 2027 start and a closing date of 6 November 2026.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching English with the ability to be creative and adaptable in your approaches to delivery to support learning at varying levels.
• Support diagnostic process and provide evidence of outstanding schemes of work, lesson plans and individual learning plans.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, develop, and prepare Stepping Stones and GCSE English.
• Provide individual and team support to vocational staff for embedding English into vocational courses.
