Job summary

The Coniston Hotel Ltd is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Grounds Assistant to keep the hotel and Nàdarra Spa pristine. You will perform daily maintenance and garden tasks, tackle plumbing, electrical and decorating duties, and ensure guest areas meet exacting standards.

Role requires a full UK manual driving licence, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure while prioritising guest service. On-site work with benefits and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (essential).
• Proven experience in gardening and general maintenance.
• Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, painting and decorating.
• Positive “can do, will do” attitude with attention to detail.
• Strong verbal communication and inter-department liaison.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily maintenance tasks and repairs across the hotel and spa.
• Complete general plumbing duties across the hotel and spa.
• Follow maintenance checklists daily, weekly and monthly.
• Undertake painting and decorating duties as required.
• Respond promptly to maintenance enquiries and guest concerns.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards.
• Report issues to the Maintenance Manager.
• Assist energy conservation initiatives and improvements.
• Carry out quality inspections and COSHH compliance.
• Attend required training and development sessions.
• Support continuous improvement across the estate.
• Maintain grounds and gardens to high standards.
• Perform mowing, strimming and general upkeep.
• Ensure safe chemical application near produce crops.
• Engage positively with guests and demonstrate garden knowledge.
