Job summary

La Barbarie Hotel in the Bailiwick of Guernsey is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation of the hotel facilities, equipment and engineering systems. The role involves working under the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager to ensure safety and efficiency.

Applicants should have a relevant technical qualification and prior hotel maintenance or facilities experience; entry‑level candidates with suitable training may be considered.

Qualifications

• Relevant technical qualification, vocational training, ITI, diploma, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical training in Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing, HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related engineering trade is preferred.
• Previous experience in hotel maintenance, facilities, engineering, property maintenance, or a related environment is preferred; suitable entry-level candidates with relevant technical training may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the smooth, safe, and efficient operation and upkeep of the hotel's facilities, equipment, and engineering systems under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor or Manager.
