Job summary

Crowne Plaza London Docklands is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead and support the hotel’s maintenance operations in East London. You will oversee preventative work, respond to issues, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You will work with the Maintenance Manager to maintain guest comfort and operational efficiency across guest rooms, public areas, plant rooms and back‑of‑house facilities.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or engineering experience, ideally within a hotel or hospitality.
• Practical knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and HVAC systems.
• Experience supervising or supporting a maintenance team would be advantageous.
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety and statutory compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with day-to-day hotel maintenance operations.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance across guest rooms, public spaces and service areas.
• Respond to reactive maintenance issues promptly to minimize guest disruption.
• Perform routine inspections of building, equipment and facilities; identify and fix defects.
• Allocate and monitor maintenance tasks to team members within timescales.
• Contribute to maintenance reporting and tracking to prioritise outstanding works.
• Support building systems: heating, ventilation, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and boilers.
