Job summary

Dakota Hotels is seeking a hard-working Maintenance Assistant to perform a broad range of maintenance tasks across the hotel. You will follow schedules, maintain building fabric to high standards, and work closely with the Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to ensure guest areas meet compliance and quality requirements.

The role requires at least two years in a maintenance-based position, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision while upholding

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience in a maintenance-based role across trades such as tiling, plastering, plumbing, etc.
• Fully computer literate and able to use basic software for records and checklists.
• Experience in a accommodation-based commercial environment such as hotels is strongly favoured.
• Keen attention to detail and high finishing standards.
• Ability to work at pace with minimal supervision and follow health and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a broad range of maintenance tasks within skillset and participate in maintenance activities (decorating, light plumbing, tiling, joinery, PAT testing, grouting, silicone work).
• Execute schedules to ensure building fabric is well-maintained and compliant with regulations, completing necessary checks and records.
• Ensure tasks, requests and project work are completed to high standard and within agreed timescales.
• Keep planned maintenance and project schedules up to date.
• Collaborate with the Maintenance and Housekeeping Manager to maintain standards in guest bedrooms and public areas; perform planned preventive and reactive maintenance.
