Job summary

Millennium Hotels Copthorne Merry Hill-Dudley is seeking a proactive Maintenance Assistant to join a small team at The Copthorne Merry Hill. You will assist in planned and reactive maintenance, and support painting and refurbishment tasks while keeping guest areas safe and tidy.

The role is fixed-term until 31/12/2026, offering 24 hours per week across three days. A flexible, on-call approach and good inter-department communication are essential in a busy hotel setting.

Qualifications

• Must be positive, efficient and motivated with a friendly approach and a good eye for detail and accuracy.
• Ability to develop good working relationships with other departments and communicate effectively with guests.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planned, reactive and preventative maintenance schedules when requested.
• Complete utility readings at required times daily.
• Work safely, conform to health and safety regulations (fire procedures, manual handling, COSHH).
• Maintain cleanliness and professionalism to minimise disruption to guests and colleagues.
• Determine quantities of materials and protect work areas before starting.
• Assist in upkeep of hotel areas, including painting, decorating and refurbishment as required.
• Be flexible with working patterns and participate in the on-call rota.
