Job summary

Whitbread’s Premier Inn Newcastle-Under-Lyme is hiring a Kitchen Team Leader. You will run the kitchen day to day, manage rotas, place orders, lead the team through busy services and own hygiene standards.

This hands-on leadership role supports progression toward Head Chef. Salary up to £14.31 per hour for 30 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026, with training and a clear career path.

Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen leadership and team management.
• Ability to manage food orders and stock control.
• Knowledge of health, safety and hygiene standards.

Responsibilities

• Own food ordering, stock control and keep costs on track for the hotel.
• Lead during service – organise the team and manage workflow.
• Prepare, cook and serve the menu to spec, from breakfasts to pub classics.
• Ensure the kitchen meets health, safety and hygiene standards and keep records up to date.
• Step up to run shifts and help new team members settle in.
• Develop kitchen management knowledge for future career progression.

Kitchen Team Leader – Newcastle-Under-Lyme Premier Inn

Join our team at Premier Inn Newcastle-Under-Lyme as a Kitchen Team Leader and move your Chef career forward. You’ll run the kitchen day to day – managing rotas, placing food orders, leading the team through busy services, and keeping everything audit-ready. Working closely with your Hotel Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the kitchen – from food quality to hygiene. It’s a hands-on leadership role that’s perfect for anyone ready to build the skills to become a Head Chef.
