Job summary

Dakota Newcastle is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join our busy kitchen team in a hotel environment. You will be washing pots and pans, ensuring equipment is available for Chefs and maintaining a clean, safe work area during shifts.

The role offers permanent, full-time hours with shifts from 7:30am-4:00pm or 4:00pm-11:30pm, 30 hours per week. Benefits include meals on duty, uniforming, staff discounts, and opportunities for development.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum experience in cleaning or cooking roles.

Responsibilities

• Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware, and cutlery throughout the day.
• Store and organize all clean items, ensuring chefs have required equipment.
• Carry out a daily break room clean and a deep clean of the kitchen twice daily.
• Keep back of house areas clear and bins area clean daily.
• Follow waste disposal and recycling procedures and keep waste area clean.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures, especially handling of waste and manual handling.
• Maintain knowledge of safe chemical handling guidelines for food prep areas.
