Job summary

Dakota Hotels Newcastle is seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support busy kitchen teams. You will wash pots and dishes, assist with keeping back-of-house areas clean, and help with daily deep cleans and waste procedures.

The role offers meals on duty, uniforming and a range of employee benefits, with training provided to ensure safety and efficiency in handling chemicals and cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years in a cleaning or cooking role.
• Hard-working individual capable of working at pace.
• Reliable and able to work well alone.
• Previous health and safety or chemical handling training is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Wash all pots, pans, crockery, glassware and cutlery throughout the day.
• Store and organise clean items for chefs and ensure equipment availability.
• Carry out daily Break Room clean and twice-daily kitchen deep cleans.
• Keep Back of House areas clear and manage bin stores daily.
• Follow waste disposal and recycling procedures and maintain waste area.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures for waste handling.
• Maintain knowledge of safe chemical handling in food prep areas.
