Job summary

MSC Cruises is seeking a Hotel Engineering Superintendent to join our engine department and oversee daily operations, budgeting, and maintenance aboard our vessels. The role includes inspections, audits, and working with Classification Societies to ensure compliance and smooth project execution.

The incumbent will manage hotel systems, coordinate dry-dock planning, and drive cost-effective solutions while maintaining strong communication with Engine Officers and hotel teams across ships.

Qualifications

  • Fluent English, oral and written.
  • MS Office tools knowledge (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team.
  • Strong ability to prioritise and work effectively under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures maintenance is performed according to Company standards as well as environmental and health standards.
  • Leads and manages maintenance teams establishing guidelines.
  • Oversees the planning of all dry-dock works.
  • Manages ships requests and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Advises company on Energy Saving efficiencies and cost-effectiveness.
  • Maintains daily contacts with Engine Officers on board.
  • Assists vessels in solving technical issues related to onboard hotel systems.
  • Works collaboratively with the Engine Superintendents.
  • Manages all the planned and unplanned jobs of all hotel auxiliary plants.

Your Purpose

We are looking for a Hotel Engineering Superintendent to join our growing engine department. You will be responsible for managing the daily operation of the assigned vessels within our fleet, implementing changes or developments where needed. You will also be responsible for dealing with budgeting and planned maintenance, as well as dealing with Classification Societies for any inspections and acceptance of results. You will enjoy attending periodic visits on board vessels completing inspections, audits, overseeing projects, renovations or refurbishments in all areas throughout the ship related to onboard hotel systems- preparing reports and making written recommendations.

Your Journey so far
  • 5year’s experience on board of cruise vessels, at least 2years as Daily 1st Engineer, preferred Hotel Engineer
  • Infoship knowledge is a plus
Your Essentials
