Description

V.Ships Leisure is looking for Hotel Controller on behalf of Orient Express Sailing Yachts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food & beverage and consumables/equipment stock control in all bars, stores and pantries (all departments).
  • Computer operations control in points of sales systems.
  • Analysis of consumption data/ reporting.
  • Overall control of the accounting of hotel and supervision of the provision master and inventory manager.
  • Bring initiative in achieving a better control of provisioning flux and onboard requisition flux.
  • Responsible for ordering all F&B, equipment and consumable supplies through MXP. Responsible for bonded store declaration.
  • In conjunction with the Provision Master, provides analysis of F&B stores consumption to handle the ordering of Food and Beverage as exact as possible.
  • Maintains the food inventory updated on a daily in cooperation with the Provision Master.
  • Carries out spot-checks on the hotel stores rotating stock-takes.
  • Carries out checks on loading operations on the pier.
  • Inputs in the computer all the requisitions in collaboration with the Provision Master.
  • Control and ensure that not a single item leaves the stores without requisition.
  • Accounts for any stock transfer between onboard locations.
  • Inputs physical stock counts into the computer system and analyze results highlighting the discrepancies for additional counts or reviews.
  • Hold minimum each second day a spot check on physical inventories held in the bars, food and beverage stores, galleys and cellars.
  • Compiles a physical inventory routine for each food & beverage locations. Verifies level of inventory at least once a cruise or more are required, daily in the Crew Bar and any other bar with high variances.
  • Prepares a voyage report in the end of each cruise.
  • Spreading random audits and reconciliation´s over the voyage and moving forward with new computer installations and controls procedures, whilst tackling systems and financial control problems, as these occur.
  • Runs end of the day on all bar point of sales workstations; distribute daily sales analysis reports as required.
  • Feeds figures into spreadsheets format to carry out the control functions described above.
  • Tackle computer problems as these arise.
  • Prepares and verifies physically the bonded stores declaration (guest and crew areas).
  • Assists the Provision Master and Inventory Manager as needed.
  • Responsible on shortages, credits and upcoming challenges through constant communication with the Purchasing Department at the Corporate Office.
  • Closes the inventory period in the MXP inventory system and prepares respective inventory reports for Hotel.
  • Responsible for the management, update and communication of the rotation plan for crew members in collaboration with the hotel director and assistant purser.
  • Conducts staff’ orientation and mid/end contract performance evaluations and makes recommendations for promotion. Introduces new crew members to their working areas and to the rules and regulations on board.
Education/Experience/Qualifications
  • Languages: Fluent English mandatory.
  • Education: A high-school degree or equivalent in Hospitality or related field.
  • Previous professional experience: 2 years experience as Hotel Controller or Provision Master or Inventory Controller.
  • Shipboard experience: Yes
  • Valid STCW certificates.
  • Valid Pre-Employment Medical.
  • C1D visa mandatory for all positions.
