Job summary

Hamberley Care Homes is seeking a Hostess at Milngavie Manor Care Home to provide warm, professional dining service to residents, visitors and relatives. You’ll prepare dining spaces, serve meals with dignity and encourage social interaction while maintaining high cleanliness standards.

Ideal candidates have hospitality or catering experience in care settings, strong customer service skills, and empathy for residents.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in hospitality or catering, ideally in a care or similar environment.
• Committed to customer care and first-class service provision.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and a desire to make a difference to residents' lives.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Provide a warm, friendly and professional service to residents, relatives and visitors.
• Prepare dining rooms and service areas before each meal service and restore them following service.
• Serve meals, snacks and refreshments in a dignified and person-centred manner.
• Promote an enjoyable dining experience, encouraging social interaction and resident choice.
• Maintain safe food storage practices, including stock rotation and date checking.
• Use cleaning products safely and in accordance with COSHH guidance.
• Work collaboratively with the wider housekeeping and care teams to maintain high standards.
