Job summary

Templeton Place Care Home in Nursling, Southampton, part of Hamberley Care Homes, is seeking a Housekeeper to provide cleaning, laundry and domestic services to residents and the home.

Qualifications

• Previous domestic experience in a care home setting is desirable.
• Flexible and reliable attitude for shifting needs.
• Committed to high levels of customer care and service.
• Basic knowledge of Health and Safety COSHH regulations.
• Empathy and a desire to improve residents' lives.
• Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and on own initiative.

Responsibilities

• Ensure supply of clean laundry and housekeeping services throughout the home.
• Keep all areas clean, hygienic and well-maintained including bedrooms and bathrooms.
• Handle laundry and linen care, safeguarding residents' personal belongings.
• Interact with residents and offer assistance to help them feel at ease.
• Maintain housekeeping supplies and report shortages to the manager.
• Work with caregivers to support the overall care plan and home operations.

What you'll be doing

• To ensure the supply of both clean laundry and housekeeping service throughout the home and contribute to the provision of cleaning, laundry and domestic services to the home.


• Ensuring all areas of the care home are clean, hygienic, and well-maintained, including bedrooms, communal spaces, and bathrooms.


• Handling laundry and linen care with attention to residents' personal belongings.


• Interacting with residents, offering assistance when needed to help them feel at ease.


• Maintaining housekeeping supplies, reporting any shortages to the manager.


• Working closely with caregivers and other staff to support the overall care plan and home operations.
