Job Description

Scope Of Position

The Host will greet and welcome guests, serve them in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to ensure an excellent guest experience. They will need extensive knowledge of menu offerings and systems informatics, maintain a clean workspace, and communicate with reservations teams regarding bookings and special requests.

Supporting team members and providing guest feedback to management are also key responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Operation
  • Manage guest queries, bookings, and special requests efficiently.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu, products, and promotions.
  • Follow reporting procedures for issues.
  • Adhere to grooming standards, including uniform, cleanliness, and personal hygiene.
  • Assist callers courteously, take messages accurately, and pass them promptly.
  • Know the restaurant's seating arrangements.
  • Accompany guests to their tables and ensure their welfare.
  • Orient guests about the restaurant, its concept, food, and art exhibits.
  • Comply with security, fire, health, and safety regulations.
  • Practice sustainable waste management and purchasing daily.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including working in different departments.
Health and Safety
  • Report and rectify hazards immediately.
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures.
  • Ensure safety of persons and property, adhering to laws and regulations.
  • Promote health and safety awareness within the department.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Clear and effective communication in English, both verbal and written.
  • Enthusiasm and commitment to excellent service.
  • Proven ability to surprise and delight guests.
  • Attention to detail and teamwork skills.
  • Flexibility in work situations.
  • Ability to perform under pressure with high service standards.

Desirable
  • Experience in luxury hotel environments with standards such as LQA or Forbes 5*.
