Job summary

North Tees & Hartlepool Solutions is seeking a Facilities Assistant (Portering) to work at The Friarage Hospital, Northallerton. The role covers patient movement, delivery of items around the hospital, and potentially driving tasks. Training provided; no prior experience required though hospital/cleaning experience helps.

The position is to cover as needed across 7 days including nights, with flexible working hours and a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Previous hospital or cleaning experience.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Move patients by bed/trolley/wheelchair between wards and departments.
• Collect and deliver laundry, bedding, pharmacy boxes, and furniture.
• Exchange of medical gas cylinders and transport of specimens.
• Provide driver cover for vehicles and hospital tugs as needed.
