About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food, ensuring it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes to customers. You'll bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life, using your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships. Your efforts will influence customers' impressions of the Waitrose brand, encouraging repeat visits through trust and loyalty, while also helping to maximize sales and profit.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure your food counter maintains high presentation and hygiene standards at all times.
• Manage stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
• Handle open food carefully, following all health & safety protocols, and contribute to reducing food wastage.
• Stay informed about new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
• Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Effective communication skills to work well within a team and with customers.

Desirable skills/experience you may have

• Experience in a customer-facing role.
• Experience in catering or hospitality.
• Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the entire branch.
