About the role

As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food, ensuring it is ethically sourced and recommending recipes to customers. You'll bring our ethos—passionate Partners serving food lovers—to life, using your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships. Your efforts will influence customers' perceptions of the Waitrose brand, fostering trust and loyalty, while helping to maximize sales and profit.

Note: Due to working time regulations, applicants must be 18 or over. Additionally, a shift premium is paid for hours worked between 22:00 and 06:00, at the role's minimum pay rate.

Key Responsibilities

1. Ensure high standards of presentation and hygiene at your food counter.
2. Monitor stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
3. Handle open food carefully, adhering to health & safety protocols and reducing wastage.
4. Maintain knowledge of new products and Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
5. Support the wider team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.

Essential Skills/Experience

• Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interactions.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Experience in a customer-facing role, catering, or hospitality.
• Interest and knowledge of current food and drink trends.
• Flexible approach to support the branch.
