Job summary

The Francis Hotel in Bath is seeking a friendly Painter and Decorator/Maintenance Team Member to keep the property safe, comfortable, and running smoothly for guests and staff.

You will work across guest rooms and public areas, responding to maintenance requests, carrying out repairs, and helping prevent issues before they arise. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds; dependability and teamwork are valued.

Qualifications

• Prepare surfaces for painting, sanding, filling, and priming.
• Apply paint, wallpaper and finishes to walls, ceilings and fixtures.
• Inspect rooms and public areas for cosmetic damage and wear.
• Perform basic maintenance tasks such as fixing doors, handles, locks, and fixtures.
• Carry out minor plumbing repairs (e.g. leaks, taps).
• Handle simple electrical tasks such as changing bulbs and fittings.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas and tools.
• Ensure decorating and maintenance work meets health and safety standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests.
• Work efficiently to minimise disruption to guests and hotel operations.
• Assist with preventative maintenance to keep facilities in good condition.
• Report major faults or repairs requiring specialist attention.
• Weekend work - Saturday every 2nd/3rd weekend, minimum 4 hours.
