Job summary

The Coaching Inn Group in Wells seeks a hands-on Maintenance Operative to keep our historic hotel safe, compliant and well presented. You’ll perform planned and reactive maintenance, carry out PPM, basic repairs, safety checks and joinery/plumbing tasks, often working with contractors.

A proactive approach and pride in workmanship are essential. You’ll log activities and help maintain high standards for guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Previous maintenance or trade experience.
• General building maintenance skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve problems.
• Good communication and basic IT skills.
• A full UK driving licence (maximum six penalty points).
• IPAF 1b licence desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
• General repairs across the hotel.
• Weekly safety and compliance checks.
• Basic plumbing, joinery, decorating and building repairs.
• Grounds and external maintenance.
• Collaborating with contractors as required.
• Logging maintenance activity in the facilities management system.
