Job summary

Circle Reading Hospital is seeking an Hospitality Assistant to join the Catering team. This full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week with a flexible shift pattern.

You will support kitchen operations, prepare food to recipes and standards, and ensure safety compliance to deliver quality patient meals. Applicants should have hospitality experience, catering qualifications or equivalent, strong knife skills, and a commitment to hygiene and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen or hospitality experience required.
• College, HND or equivalent catering qualification, or relevant industry experience.
• Good knife skills and safe food preparation techniques.
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and safe working practices.
• Understanding of infection prevention and food safety standards.
• Excellent customer service and strong communication with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and with flexible schedules.
• Professional appearance and hospital uniform compliance.
• English language proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0.

Responsibilities

• Support all kitchen operations with a wide range of catering duties.
• Prepare food to recipes, quality standards and presentation.
• Undertake kitchen duties and assist colleagues to ensure daily operations.
• Ensure all food is prepared, stored and served per food safety legislation.
• Follow emergency procedures, alarms and evacuation protocols.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across departments.
• Provide welcoming, courteous and professional service to enhance patient experience.
