Job summary

The Venues Collection Compass Group UK&I is seeking a friendly Hospitality Assistant to join our team at Eastwood Hall. You’ll play a key role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, from front-of-house service to event setup and collaborative teamwork across departments.

You’ll welcome guests, provide food and beverage service, and help prepare simple items while maintaining high standards and a positive attitude even during busy periods.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality is helpful but not required; a willingness to learn is essential.
• Able to greet guests warmly and communicate clearly with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming guests with a friendly smile and making them feel at home.
• Providing food and beverage service, taking orders, and ensuring timely delivery.
• Explain menus and make recommendations where appropriate.
• Set up tables, restaurants, meeting rooms and event spaces for service.
• Ensure food and drinks look professional and meet high standards.
• Prepare simple food items and beverages when needed (coffee, salads).
• Handle payments accurately and ensure a smooth guest experience from start to finish.
• Keep service and prep areas clean, tidy, and ready for action.
• Support stock checks and notify team when supplies run low.
• Collaborate with kitchen, Conference & Events and wider Food & Beverage teams to deliver excellent service.
• Assist colleagues during busy periods and contribute wherever needed.
• Follow food safety, allergen management, health and safety and hygiene procedures.

• Keeping our restaurants, kitchens and service areas clean, tidy and ready for action.
• Supporting stock checks and letting the team know when supplies are running low.
• Working closely with our kitchen, Conference & Events and wider Food & Beverage teams to deliver fantastic service.
• Helping colleagues during busy periods and getting stuck in wherever you're needed.
• Following our food safety, allergen management, health and safety and hygiene procedures.
