Job summary

The Waterside in Rugby, part of Greene King, is recruiting an Assistant Manager to support the General Manager, lead everyday operations and deliver exceptional hospitality.

You'll inspire the team, manage shifts, drive sales, ensure food quality and safety, and help recruit and develop staff while creating a welcoming experience for guests. This role offers hands-on leadership in a busy pub environment with a community focus.

Qualifications

• Experience in a supervisory or management role within a pub, restaurant or hospitality environment.
• Confidence to lead a team and make decisions during busy services.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate and develop others.
• Commercial awareness and an interest in driving sales and business performance.
• A hands-on approach, leading by example and supporting your team wherever needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front: Support the day-to-day running of the pub, taking ownership of shifts and keeping everything running smoothly.
• Inspire your team: Motivate, coach and develop your people, creating a positive environment where everyone can thrive.
• Put customers first: Ensure every guest receives a warm welcome, brilliant service and a reason to return.
• Drive business performance: Help maximise sales, identify opportunities and understand how your decisions contribute to the pub's success.
• Maintain high standards: Keep on top of food quality, service, cleanliness and health and safety.
• Support recruitment and development: Help bring great people into the team and give them the tools to succeed.
• Step up when needed: Support the General Manager in leading the business in their absence.
