Job summary

Butcombe Group is seeking an Assistant Manager for one of its venues to lead the front-of-house team and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You will work closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth daily operations, maintain a warm atmosphere, and drive service excellence across every shift.

You will coach and develop team members, foster an inclusive culture, manage stock, rotas, and standards, and contribute to strong commercial performance while upholding the brand’s welcoming ethos.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day running of the pub, ensuring every shift delivers great hospitality and memorable guest experiences.
• Leading by example and inspiring the team to deliver exceptional service standards every day.
• Coaching, developing and motivating team members, helping them build confidence and grow their careers.
• Driving a positive and inclusive team culture where people feel valued and supported.
• Supporting with stock control, rotas, compliance and operational standards.
• Taking ownership of the guest journey and resolving issues quickly and professionally.
• Helping to deliver strong commercial performance while maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere our pubs are known for.
