Job summary

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is seeking a Support Service Assistant to provide a quality domestic and catering service, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.

You will follow NHS Scotland Cleaning Specification, rotate around clinical areas, and perform meal service tasks and waste disposal with training provided. This part-time permanent role is at Dykebar Hospital with shifts 16:00–19:00.

Qualifications

• Induction and comprehensive training provided
• Training in all machinery and safety procedures
• Knowledge of Health and Safety practices
• Knowledge of COSHH
• Knowledge of lifting and handling
• Basic Food Hygiene certificate
• Infection control practices
• Driving licence required for driving tasks

Responsibilities

• All aspects of cleaning per schedules
• Removal and disposal of waste
• Litter picking within 10m radius
• Curtain/Screen Hanging
• Meal service tasks per HACCP
• Record temperatures in fridge and hot plate
• Dishwashing
• Collect and distribute on site mail
• Collection and transmission of specimens and sharps boxes
