Job summary

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a reliable Stores Driver to join the Procurement and Supplies team at Bedford Hospital. You will deliver goods across the Trust, load/unload, and collect signatures to ensure traceability.

The role requires a full clean UK driving licence, good IT skills, and the ability to work with internal stakeholders to ensure timely deliveries. Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, 37.5 hours per week, 12-month fixed term.

Qualifications

• Good general education to GCSE level or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence is essential.
• Experience in hospital or stores environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods across the Trust to ward level.
• Obtain signatures for orders to ensure traceability.
• Load/unload and drive the Trust vehicle across site(s).
• Assist with queries from stakeholders over orders and deliveries.
• Liaise with Stores and Materials Management Teams to ensure service delivery.
• Operate stores handling equipment within agreed procedures.
• Attend compulsory Trust training when required (Fire, Manual Handling).
• Have a flexible attitude to working hours to meet needs of the Trust.
• Ensure Trust Vehicle and Fork Lift (where trained) are used safely per procedures.
• Access emails and Trust software systems as required.
