Job summary

Mitie Group plc. is seeking a Security Relief Cover Officer to protect hospital sites, support clinical teams and ensure a safe environment for patients, visitors and NHS staff. The role requires flexibility to cover 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends, across local hospital sites.

You will patrol, monitor CCTV, respond to emergencies, and act as a visible, reassuring presence for patients and staff. A valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence and DBS check are essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA Door Supervisor Licence (essential).
• Willing to work a varied relief rota of 12-hour shifts, including days, nights and weekends.
• Full UK driving licence and own transport is highly beneficial.
• Able to pass standard 5-year security screening and an enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Patrol internal wards, grounds, and sensitive clinical areas; monitor CCTV and conduct perimeter checks.
• Provide visible, calming support at entrances, emergency departments, and reception; de-escalate and assist vulnerable people.
