Job summary

Inclusion Recovery Hampshire is recruiting a Hospital Engagement Worker to support people admitted to hospitals across South Hampshire. The role is 30 hours per week, focusing on brief interventions, harm reduction and facilitating access to community treatment and recovery services following discharge.

You will work with hospital teams and partner agencies to identify needs, deliver compassionate support, and help service users achieve positive, sustainable recovery outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience in the drug and alcohol field (including voluntary work or placements).
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Engage individuals admitted to hospital due to alcohol-related issues and facilitate access to treatment and recovery services.
• Deliver brief interventions and motivational support to encourage behaviour change.
• Complete initial screening assessments and identify risks and safeguarding concerns.
• Support service users after discharge through telephone, digital and face-to-face follow-up.
• Collaborate with hospital teams, community services and external stakeholders to improve pathways into treatment.
