East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a General Porter on a permanent basis. The role is full time (37.5 hours) with a rotational shift pattern including nights, days and weekends. Training and uniform are provided to support all portering duties in a busy hospital environment.

Applicants should be physically fit with strong communication and teamwork skills, and be able to work independently as well as part of a team to maintain excellent patient care and service quality.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be physically fit.
• Good communication skills and ability to work independently and in a team.
• Flexible to cover shifts and maintain service levels.

Responsabilités

• Transfer patients, medical equipment and sundries as directed.
• Move furniture and assist in relocations of equipment.
• Distribute and collect linen and laundry per schedules.
• Undertake clinical, household and confidential waste collections.
• Collect and document specimens/bloods for pathology as required.
• Exchange and document portable medical gas cylinders and usage.
• Carry out mortuary duties and assist police/ambulance when needed.
