Job summary

We are seeking porters to support the Epsom and St Helier Hospitals, moving patients, equipment and notes to keep services running smoothly. The role is physically demanding but highly rewarding as you contribute to patient care and experience in a large NHS Trust.

Hours include 24‑hour operations with rotating shifts; training will be provided. This position is not Agenda for Change and offers flexible full‑time or part‑time contracts, depending on the rota.

Qualifications

• Numeracy and literacy required for everyday ward tasks.
• Customer care focused and patient‑centred approach.
• Physically fit to perform manual handling and mobility tasks.
• BICSc qualification / NVQ or equivalent preferred.
• Infection prevention and control awareness is essential.

Responsibilities

• Move patients, equipment and notes around the hospital.
• Perform a range of porter duties in a busy hospital environment.
• Work across rotating shifts in a 24‑hour service with manual handling.
• Attend interviews in Epsom if shortlisted.
