Job summary

Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Pharmacy Technician (Band 4) for a rotational, full-time role (37.5 hours) on a permanent basis. The post supports inpatient and outpatient services with duties including dispensing, accuracy checking, patient counselling, and medicines optimisation across wards.

Applicants should be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and hold Level 3 BTEC/NVQ Pharmacy Services or an equivalent.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.
• Level 3 BTEC/NVQ Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Post-qualification hospital pharmacy experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing and accuracy checking for in-patients, out-patients and discharge.
• Patient counselling.
• Medicines optimisation at ward level including medicines reconciliation; assessing patients’ own medicines at the bedside and processing discharge prescriptions.
• Co-operate with pharmaceutical staff to develop dispensing and medicines distribution services.
• Supervise pre-registration trainee pharmacy technicians and assistants.
