Job summary

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Mechanical Technician (Fitter/Plumber) to join the Estates team at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield. The role offers regular daytime hours, training opportunities including Authorised Person status, and specialist courses.

You will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on hospital heating, water and mechanical systems, collaborating with Estates colleagues to ensure safety and high standards for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Estates maintenance procedures and related craft skills.
• ONC/City and Guilds/NVQ3 with relevant experience.
• Completion of a recognised trade apprenticeship and versatility in technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Undertake repair works and general planned preventative maintenance on hospital systems, including plumbing, heating and mechanical systems.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver maintenance to high standards.
• Repair and maintain heating, hot and cold water, and plumbing across the hospital site.
