Mitie is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support planned and reactive services at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Freeman Hospital in Newcastle. The role covers site-wide mechanical systems with a focus on safety, reliability, and compliant operation.

You will perform PPMs, maintain equipment per manuals, and respond to faults while coordinating with subcontractors and ensuring clean, safe work areas. A DBS check and relevant qualifications are required.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in mechanical and/or multi-skilled building services maintenance, including DHW, LTHW and ventilation systems.
• Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on high-quality service.
• Ability to pass a DBS check prior to employment.
• General building/fabric maintenance experience desirable.
• 18th Edition and/or City & Guilds 2391 qualifications desirable.

Aufgaben

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) per contract requirements and schedules.
• Maintain mechanical plant and equipment per O&M manuals and standards.
• Respond to reactive maintenance tasks within service levels and complete reports.
• Assist with supervising subcontractors and ensure safe systems of work.
• Keep plant rooms and service areas clean, safe, and organized.
