Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Band 2 Supply Chain Distribution Officer based at Lister Hospital. The role focuses on delivering goods to wards and departments, unpacking trolleys/pallets safely, and ensuring deliveries are completed on receipt whenever possible.

The post holder will work within the Trust's Supply Chain team, liaising with ward staff, adhering to safe manual handling procedures and health and safety policies, and may travel between Trust sites to

Qualifications

• Manual handling training or ability to follow safe manual handling procedures.
• Good communication and liaison skills with ward staff and suppliers.
• Ability to follow Trust policies and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Deliver goods to wards and departments, aiming for on the day of receipt whenever possible.
• Unpack trolleys and pallets in a safe manner at a suitable location.
• Marshal goods into the receiving area, safely unloading pallets/roll cages/tote boxes from vehicles.
• Obtain signatures from recipients at delivery, when required.
• Respond to enquiries efficiently, acting as a liaison between wards/departments and Supply Chain staff.
• Maintain high service levels for receipt and distribution of goods at all times.
• Follow Health and Safety and moving and handling policies and work safely with equipment.
