Job summary

We Are With You in Shrewsbury is seeking a Hospital Link Worker on a fixed-term contract, based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, to support clients in identifying goals and creating personalised treatment plans to support recovery. You will help develop inpatient and outpatient services as part of the Drug and Alcohol team, with occasional Saturday work.

A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are required.

• Ability to take basic health checks (height, weight, pulse, blood pressure) is essential.
• Highly organised with excellent communication skills and time management.

Our vibrant services in Shrewsbury provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We have services in Shrewsbury but much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve. The service is an integrated drug and alcohol service, delivering an asset based community approach to treatment. We specialise in harm reduction and needle syringe provision, psycho social interventions, opioid substitution treatment, referral to detox and community interventions.

The Hospital Link Worker will play a vital role in supporting clients to identify their goals, ambitions, and passions. You’ll work with them to create the best treatment plan for their needs and to guide them on their path to recovery. This role will be based at Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, as part of the Drug and Alcohol team. You will help to establish and maintain a quality hospital liaison service, developing inpatient and outpatient services for those with substance related issues.

This position is offered on a full time, fixed term basis, until March 2028. Some Saturday working will be required to meet the needs of the service and you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

As a Recovery Worker, we offer a starting salary of £26,250, rising each year in line with our pay progression salary bands, to £30,900 per year. For further details please reach out to a member of the recruitment team via [e-mail].

You will work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained.
