Job summary

Serco at Forth Valley Royal Hospital is seeking a proactive Housekeeper to ensure a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and colleagues. You’ll provide housekeeping, cleaning and catering services within your area and support Domestic Assistants to maintain high standards.

This fixed-term 6-month role requires flexibility, good literacy and numeracy, PVG scheme membership, and relevant hygiene certifications.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy skills are essential.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Strong attention to detail and a customer-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver housekeeping, cleaning, catering and customer services to agreed standards across clinical areas.
• Provide day-to-day direction and support to Domestic Assistants in their area.
• Serve patient meals and beverages and ensure dining areas are cleaned afterwards.
• Keep kitchen and service areas, equipment and dishwashers clean and ready for use.
• Distribute clean linen to wards and safely move soiled linen and waste to collection points.
• Follow Health and Safety, COSHH, and food hygiene policies and procedures.
