Job summary

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a part-time Catering and Housekeeping post at Kendray Hospital, Barnsley. The role covers meal service, cleaning duties and stock management within a mental health inpatient environment.

Applicants should have Level 2 Food Safety and be able to work flexibly across shifts. In return, you will contribute to high standards of patient care and safety while upholding Trust policies.

Qualifications

• Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate courteously with service users, colleagues and visitors.
• Ability to work without immediate supervision and prioritise tasks.
• Basic literacy and numeric skills.
• Level 2 Food Safety certificate or willingness to complete within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high standard of catering and housekeeping within a mental health inpatient setting.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in line with national standards and policy.
• Regenerate/prepare and serve meals and snacks on wards while adhering to time schedules and HACCP/food safety policies.
• Assist with stock monitoring, ordering and storage on wards.
• Support service users with meal selections and nutritional plans.
• Adhere to Trust policies, confidentiality and safeguarding commitments.
