Job summary

Mersey & West Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is looking to recruit a Health Care Support Worker to join the Stroke Ward 15B team at Southport Hospital. This role supports nurses with direct patient care and daily ward duties within a busy hospital environment.

The post is permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) with long days and nights, and offers NHS Band 2 pay. You will work under the Nurse in Charge to ensure high standards of care and patient safety.

Qualifications

• Completion of Trust Care Certificate within 4 months of appointment
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• NVQ level 2 Health and Social Care or equivalent
• Care Certificate (equivalent to level 1)

Responsibilities

• Provide the patients with assistance to maintain their hygiene and provide all personal care as required.
• Assist with feeding and mobilising as per therapy guidelines.
• Complete patients' individual paperwork, such as body-maps, skin bundles and fluid balance charts.
